This was revealed in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Rice Production Technology Innovation Towards Food Self-Sufficiency, initiated by the Faculty of Agriculture at Unila.
The event, moderated by Prof. Dr. Ir Wan Abbas Zakaria, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ir. Kuswanta Futas Hidayat, and Khairullah, the CEO of PT Ghalli Roelies Indonesia.
Also present from the government sector were Elvira Umihanni, Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Lampung Province, as well as representatives from the Food Security, Food Crops, and Horticulture Agency, the Plantation Agency, and the Forestry Agency.
According to Wan Abbas, the FGD is considered strategic as it addresses fundamental issues to advance agriculture in Lampung.
